Tenet
The big budget movie from Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan, Tenet, remains at the top of the box office in a market still struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the figures are suggesting people are still not ready to go back to the movies!

Although Tenet is at the top the movie at number 2, After We Collided, is showing incredible business as it gives the number 1 movie a run for its money.

The top new movie of the week, the third Bill & Teds movie seems a bit of a foot note which is a real shame for the beloved characters, and the film has been given a VOD release along with its theatrical debut.

Its also worth noting that this is the first weekend since cinemas started re-opening that there is not a 'catalogue' film on the chart.

Tenet

Here is your quick look box office highlights

  • Number 1 - Tenet
  • Highest debut - Bill & Ted Face The Music
  • Longest run - Onward (15 weeks)
  • Highest total gross - Tenet (£13,879,635)

Here is the UK box office top 5 rundown 18th - 20th September 2020.

Tenet

Four weeks on an the 'saviour of cinema' hasn't exactly lived up to its promise and takes under a million with £796.3K, down 35% from last week.

The movie has now made a total of £13.8 Million, not great for such a high budget movie and with tighter restrictions starting to hit the UK again it future is uncertain.

A move to VOD could be on the cards soon, but as Onward has shown films can still make money at the box office while available to view at home.

After We Collided

Remaining at number 2 this week is director Roger Kumble low budget movie which has gone from strength to strength as its theatre count has increased.

This weekend the movie took £598.2K which is up 26% from last weeks gross and 3 weeks in it has taken a total of £1.7 Million.

Bill & Ted Face The Music

Bill & Ted Face The Music

The Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter starring movie lands with a weekend gross of £462K, far lower than expected and hindered by the pandemic and the VOD dual release.

Its unfair to compare movies in the current box office climate but Bill & Teds Bogus Journey debuted in January 1992 at number 1 with £2.7 Million on its way to £5.4 Million.

Andre Rieu's Magical Maastricht: Together In Music

A yearly event, musician André Rieu releases his latest Event Cinema concert which makes its debut at number 4 this week with a weekend gross of £124.1K.
